Guided Fishing Adventures

Fishing at Long Lake Adventures isn’t just about the catch. Our secluded lakes offer incredible opportunities for wildlife viewing, with sightings of bald eagles, ospreys, and the mighty bull moose in their natural habitat. Combine these stunning natural surroundings with excellent fishing and our welcoming hospitality, and it’s easy to see why so many guests return year after year.

Our Lakes: The Heart of Long Lake Adventures

Long Lake Adventures is nestled in Victoria County, northern New Brunswick, at the headwaters of the Tobique River Watershed. Our exclusive location offers access to pristine lakes all interconnected, feeding into the River Don and eventually joining the Campbell River. This stunning ecosystem provides an ideal environment for fishing and wildlife watching, all year round.

A Managed Wild Fishery

Our lakes provide an unparalleled fishing experience thanks to our managed wild fishery. Unlike many lakes in New Brunswick, we don’t rely on supplemental stocking—instead, our lakes sustain themselves through a natural ecosystem, which produces both better numbers and larger fish.

This unique fishery attracts anglers from all over, offering fishing opportunities that rival expensive, far-off destinations like northern Quebec or Labrador.

Our lakes are open for fishing during the spring and summer only, with ice fishing prohibited, further reducing fishing pressure compared to other nearby lakes. Notably, Long Lake and Mud Lake are two of the few lakes in northern New Brunswick that support a native Lake Trout population.

Fishing Hunting and Cabin Rentals at Long Lake Adventures NB

Long Lake Adventures offers all-inclusive guided fishing trips with excellent fishing opportunities. Our managed wild fishery provides an abundant population of Brook Trout, Yellow Perch, Lake Trout (Togue), Landlocked Salmon, and Yellow Perch. Enjoy an unparalleled fishing experience!

The Big Lake

Long Lake Fishing

Long Lake—which we lovingly call “The Big Lake”—is our largest lake, covering over 2,200 acres and reaching depths of more than 180 feet. This deep water is home to Lake Trout (Togue) and Landlocked Salmon, which thrive in the oxygen-rich waters.

Long Lake is also home to an abundant population of Brook Trout around the feeder streams and springs that feed the lake. These fish are perfect for a shore lunch. Additionally, the lake features a largely untapped Yellow Perch fishery and the opportunity to catch Lake Whitefish

Long Lake

Mid-Season

As the water temperature rises in late June, fish move deeper, requiring the use of downriggers, wire, lead-core lines, or diving devices like Dipsy Divers for trolling. Some anglers have success with vertical presentations using regular spinning gear to fish right under the boat.

Long Lake

Early Season

In the weeks following ice-out (typically less than a week before the season opens on May 15), these species move close to the surface, where they feed voraciously on baitfish. During this time, our anglers enjoy excellent success with top-water techniques, using spoons or minnow-style lures like Rapalas trolled on a flat line with little or no weight.

Long Lake

Late Season

By mid-July, the warmer waters make for excellent conditions for swimming and water sports, particularly in the shallower spots near our camps. As fall approaches, the waters cool off, and fish start moving closer to the surface again, especially by the final days of the fishing season, which ends on September 15.

A Hidden Gem

Mud Lake

Just a short walk from our camps, Mud Lake offers world-class fishing without even needing to get out on the water. A five-minute walk along a cedar-lined path leads you to one of the best hotspots in the lake, located where water enters from Long Lake. Here, the water drops off sharply from shallow, ankle-deep waters to depths of up to 15 feet, providing excellent fishing opportunities.

Mud Lake

Catch & Release Only

Mud Lake has been a catch-and-release fishery for 0ver 25 years, ensuring the preservation of its unique fishing opportunities. While bait fishing is not allowed, the lake offers exceptional fly and lure fishing for those looking to land trophy fish, including Lake Trout and Landlocked Salmon.

Mud Lake

Fishing by Canoe

The lake is also accessible by canoe, offering serene, ultralight tackle fishing for those who enjoy a more relaxed approach. For many of our guests, landing a 10+ pound fish on a streamer fly is a highlight of their visit.

On our first hunting trip to Long Lake Adventures in 2022 I made plans for four hunters and we were spoiled. The housing is fantastic. The food is prepared by Tanya. The best meals I have ever had at an outfitter camp. The guides are all top notch. They put their time in and if you listen to what they tell you, you will get a nice bear. On our last trip in 2024 I went back again with six hunters and we got into fishing. We caught a lot of nice fish. I feel that I have made some very good friends in NB with Clay and Tanya.

Long lake Adventures is truly a special place. My bear and moose hunts have been epic. Accommodations in this remote area are great, the food is great, and the people are the best! Clay and Tanya accept you into their family from the first handshake and you soon seem like you have known them since childhood. I have hunted most all North American game and been to many camps and lodges. I have not felt the feeling like home anywhere close to Long Lake. Special people, special place. Highly recommend for your next trip.

Over the past 30 years I have had the opportunity to go on numerous outfitted hunts both within and outside the United States. Our first hunt at Long Lake Adventures was a group of eight. On the first evening we harvested a large 400# black bear. We had another successful hunt in 2024. We are hunting again in 2025 for bear, and also booked a moose hunt for the fall. Long Lake Adventures is one of the best outfitters I have hunted with and I cannot recommend a better outfitter and individuals to make it a memorable experience. You will not be disappointed. I knew when I have selected a right outfitter when now I am proud to call Clay a friend.
