Wildlife at your doorstep
We’re fortunate here at Long Lake Adventures to be surrounded by prime country for Ruffed Grouse & Woodcock. Our vast areas of second growth (poplar, birch and pin cherry) and mature hardwoods (maple and beech) provide an abundance of year-round food and large fir thickets that provide shelter and make our area of New Brunswick prime for producing a very stable Ruffed Grouse population annually.
We also have both native and migratory Woodcock in our area. There are several old forest roads close to ponds and bogs and these long-forgotten roads eventually become flanked with alder bushes, making them prime for Woodcock habitat.
The experience
Hunts can be done walking or driving, and our remote camp location makes commute times to the best hunting areas next to nothing, another benefit of experiencing our remote wilderness.
Our Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock hunts can be per-day or per-week and we provide our guests with transportation to and from hunting areas and cooked lunches over an open fire (or back at camp if the weather is not on our side).
We are dog-friendly so if you would like to bring your hunting dog(s), you are more than welcome!
Hunting season
Woodcock season starts in mid-September 15 and is the best from the first of the season to around the third week in October.
Grouse hunting season starts October 1 and we offer Ruffed Grouse hunts from opening day through to the end of November.

Ruffed grouse hunts can also be combined with our fall bear black bear hunting packages.
